Boscov’s Gala Preview Recap
New Millcreek Mall Location
Boscov’s Millcreek Mall
(800) 755-6391 ~ (814) 868-9000
Unit #800
Erie, PA 16565
Boscov’s just opened up their 46th retail location in Erie PA and I got to experience it first hand!
During Boscov’s Gala Preview of the beautiful new Boscov’s Millcreek Mall location, on Thursday, October 5th, we got to experience first hand the deals & steals that Boscov’s is known for!
Did you know it’s one of the only family owned department stores still around? Most department stores are corporate owned and ran, but not Boscov’s!
Boscov’s Gala Preview was set up with community, charities and local non-profits in mind. During Boscov’s Gala Preview members of the community are able to get a first look at Boscov’s with a small $5 donation to their organization of choice!
PLUS everyone who purchased a Boscov’s Gala Preview ticket also got a free gift! Our Free gift was a Kitchen Pal Oven Glove. These things are so neat and are worth every penny of your $5 donation.
With four entrances (2 outside the building and 2 mall entrances) I was shocked to see how many people had showed up to Boscov’s Gala Preview. All of the entrances had lines of people who could not wait to get in and see what this new store was all about!
The ground floor is where we noticed most of the items you would need personally. Such as clothing, perfumes, make-up, shoes, bags, jewelry, health & beauty items etc..
The upper level is where we found more of the household type items from kitchenware, beds, furniture, small appliances, and more gigets and gadgets than you can image! But that’s not all!
The upper level also has chocolate and lots of it!
They have a homemade fudge station. You can sample all of their creations and purchase specific flavors or buy a box of pre wrapped fudge.
They had a section full of truffles and another with other chocolate covered treats & sweats! We left with some peanut butter chocolate fudge and a bag of chocolate covered pretzels. Yum!
The lower lever also had many end caps and sections related to seasonal or holiday extras and decor. From Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas!
One of my favorite sections on the lower level was the candles. At one point I rounded a corner and turned to the side and I could see candles far and wide!
The aroma was very pleasant and not over powering at all. I sometimes have issues in candle and perfume stores for that reason, but I did not experience this at Boscov’s at all!
Speaking of perfumes. I cam across an end cap that offered you the chance to create your own signature scent or blend. They had quite a variety of samplers to test our all the available scents to add to your custom blend.
Overall we had an enjoyable shopping trip and left with a lot of stuff for our money!
My husbands best find of the night was a really nice fleece lined zip up hoodies for $10!! I couldn’t believe that was all it cost.He also found a bunch of other clothes he just had to have as the deals were everywhere. These are their everyday prices! Daily deals, not just preview night deals.
My best find of the night, minus the chocolate, would have to be these 3 piece cookie sheet sets. I had originally seen these individual heavy duty cookie sheets for $3 bucks a piece not a bad deal at all, but when I saw the 3pc set for $5 I had to switch it out! Ended up with 6 cookie sheets for $10!
My son found a FOX hoodie he just had to have. It had a ticket price of $54 but was only $37! He also found a new set of clippers. He’s been complaining about needing a new one for awhile now since he lost the attachment he needs for the other one. We found a really nice set of Remington hair clippers for $10!
The prices are truly unbeatable and the cashiers, staff and other helpers were all friendly, offering help at every corner and constantly smiling! This even was a great stress free shopping trip for me and I enjoyed being able to stop at one store for pretty much all my gifting needs! I will definitely be returning!
