With fall in full swing and winter on the horizon you may be looking for a way to keep active and enjoy the outdoors a little longer. This comes as good news for anyone looking to escape the winter blues and avoid cabin fever, and what better place to do that than Whistler, British Columbia? The Canadian town of Whistler is known for its abundance of outdoor winter activities, and tourists have been visiting Whistler for years in search of some seasonal fun. If you’re planning on visiting Whistler this winter, here are some activities that will have you searching for Whistler homes for sale to keep the fun going year-round.

Dog Sled Tours

When it comes to experiencing Whistler, what better way to take in the beautiful scenery than on your own dog sled? Dog sled tours allow you to explore Whistler while a team of Alaskan racing huskies pulls your sled through the snowy terrain. If you’ve never gone dog sledding, don’t worry- a trained guide will ride with you to ensure you have a safe ride. Taking a dog sled tour is a great way to experience all Whistler has to offer in a fun and unique way.

Snowshoeing

In the mood for a more laidback activity? Snowshoeing is a low-impact way to explore the wonders of Whistler. Snowshoeing can be fun for people of all ages, as all you are essentially doing is walking! Snowshoeing involves strapping flat devices, similar to rackets, to the soles of your boots and walking around. Wearing snowshoes makes it easier to walk in the snow, as your feet will not sink like regular shoes or boots will cause you to do. For a chill, relaxing day, strap on your snowshoes and hit the Whistler landscape.

Peak 2 Peak

If you’re more of a thrill-seeker, Peak 2 Peak provides all of the adrenaline-rushing excitement you’ll crave during your trip to Whistler! Peak 2 Peak is a gondola that takes riders up to 1,361 feet between the Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, making for a thrilling experience you’re sure to remember for a lifetime. In only 11 minutes, you’ll find yourself suspended high above the ground observing views that can only be witnessed from that altitude. Keep in mind, Peak 2 Peak is not for the faint of heart, so if heights aren’t your thing you may want to skip this one.

Coca-Cola Tube Park

Snow tubing is a favorite wintertime activity for many, especially the people of Whistler! To get in on the action, check out the Coca-Cola Tube Park and ride down hills of fresh snow. The tube park features a convenient conveyor lift that makes it easy to get back up the mountain after each ride, and the park also operates during evening hours, perfect for busy parents looking to enjoy a fun night out. For families visiting with small children, keep in mind that kids under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult while riding.

  1. I have never heard of this town before. It sounds like so much winter fun for the family. I think my family would love the tube park. Thank you so much for sharing this. God Bless

  2. Whistler’s Olympic Plaza transforms into an outdoor ice rink. That would be fun for those who like winter. Myself, I don’t like being cold and/or wet so it’s not for me
