Product Description: Bold Made is a new and improved twist on the classic card game Old Maid. Our game isn’t about getting stuck with a card. It’s about winning by collecting a team of bold women past and present.
Each woman in the deck has made important contributions to her society and to the world at large. The game is fun, of course, but also a powerful way to help kids find fantastic female role models.
40 Beautifully Illustrated Cards
Bold Made features original hand-drawn portraits by the talented Filipino artist named Kersly Potter.
Bold Made features 40 amazing women in 10 different categories including artists, activists, astronauts, musicians, inventors, photographers, writers, scientists, and world leaders. The hardest part of the whole project has been selecting which bold women to include.
21st Century Goals and Gameplay
Bold Made replaces the outdated and sexist goal of avoiding the Old Maid card with the addition of the Bold Made card and changing the goal to end the game with the Bold Made Card.
I am so in awe of this game and how many women in history have made such huge impacts on society and life for women as a whole.
This game opens up so much opportunity for people to learn about historic women and events that lead to where we are as a society today.
They also have an expansion pack available right now featuring bold women athletes, you can buy this as a combo gift or separately to add to your main game set.
What are your first impressions of Bold Made and how do you feel about women empowerment and where the movement has lead in today’s modern society?
I am personally looking forward to playing this game with my granddaughter when she gets older. I am also planning on making sure each of the young girls and teens in my family each receive a copy of this game.
I personally think knowledge through fun and play has the biggest impact in retention and would love for all the women (and men) in my life to have some idea of the impact women can and have had in our world and how these women have shaped society as we know if today and hopefully for many more years to come!
